Phoebe: Sweet 17 and Prom

Phillip has many projects going on around the house now that spring has sprung. He's finishing up some landscaping around the house. He's a good planner who thinks through a project thoroughly before proceeding, so we have few mistakes to fix. I love the lava rock and planter boxes! I'll be ordering plants soon.

Wallace is so fun. He's rammy and affectionate. He butts his head against you. He doesn't like being picked up like he used to. The black kittens are all a little stunted in growth it seems. Their mom left before they were weaned probably, so they may always be kitten size.

Phoebe and I shared a birthday cake since our birthdays are within the same week. Chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and chocolate chips. It didn't last long!

Harrison's birthday present to Phoebe was giving her 15 minutes for her to fix his hair however she wanted. She's been dying to put lots of pomade in it and part it down the middle like a 1920's style.

He doesn't love it, so it was a real sacrifice of love for him. :-)

Phoebe and some friends went roller skating for her birthday celebration.

They played "Dancing Queen" for her since it was the only song we could think of that had 17 in it.

The place also had bumper cars, so they had a go at it.

We then went to a Thai restaurant that Phoebe and I have been wanting to try. It was good. We had a long wait. We will definitely go back but will order ahead and pick up.

Gabry treated all of us to yummy ice cream!
(I got a cold brew coffee flavor, and I will be getting that flavor again!)

We put a candle in Phoebe's ice cream and sang Happy Birthday to her.

What a fun group of girls. I had a great evening with them.

Katelyn from church invited Phoebe to go to her Prom, so Phoebe had an all-day prom day yesterday. She spent the first half of the day getting ready and then the rest of the day doing prom activities. I never went to prom, but Phillip says prom involves a lot more now than it used to in his day!

She wore one of Lanaya Elizabeth's dresses, and I thought it worked out very well.

She did her own hair and makeup, and she was stunning!

Katelyn's family very kindly bought her corsage.

And there were lots of moms taking pictures, and they are awesome enough to share them! Photo credits go to Christina Sutton, Jolleen Kurz, and Christy Franke Photography and maybe some others I'm not aware of (I wasn't there; I'm grabbing from Facebook).

We have some beautiful places in and around town at which to photograph.

It was cold!!
And windy. Poor girls. Phoebe grabbed a scarf she had, but it was pretty thin. At least it was something.

What a handsome bunch!

I'm so appreciative of the friendships around us.

Phoebe had a good time.

Doc has been tortured lately because Abigail is about to have another batch of babies, and she has been making his life miserable in some kind of attempt to protect her babies. We'll see where that goes. It'd be great if these kittens would get used to Doc and play with him. But we'll see.....
