Mad Faces

Phoebe was pretending to be mad one day and made the cutest angry face. Elizabeth said, "Phoebe is cute when angry!" (A reference to a bib that holds that message.) I tried to get her to do it again for a picture, but she kept smiling. Then the other kids wanted a picture of them doing an angry face.

Valentime's Day

Jonathan told Phillip that they needed to get the girls some roses for Valentime's Day. He asked him every day when they could do that, so they went a few days before the 14th to get each of us girls a rose. (I didn't know he even had the idea. He came up with it on his own!).

While they were at it, Phillip also got me a coffee maker. Yay!! Now I can set the coffee up at night and have a fresh cup waiting for me in the morning! I love it!

He also bought me cowboy boots, but I don't have a picture of that yet. This is my first pair of boots though, and I'm loving them! Now I need a cowboy hat.

Burned out Tree

At the plantation at Blue Springs there is a large burned out tree trunk that we took pictures in. Jonathan wanted to just play with the dirt. Some of you photographers could get some cool pictures out here!

Blue Springs

We had a wonderful family trip with some friends from church to Blue Springs in Florida. It's a warm water spring which is home to manatees in the winter time. So we got to see a few manatees (although they were on the other side of the river and looked like blobs to us, so no pictures, sorry!) and some alligators and gar and other large fish and a turtle.

There's an old plantation home there. Here we're all on the porch enjoying the breeze and rockers. I would love to have a large porch with rocking chairs. We lived in an older home with a large porch when I was a kid and it was so fun to play on it; especially when it rained ~ you felt as if you had a wall around you when the rain would pour down so hard that you couldn't see through it.

The kids are standing in front a mosaic manatee.

We took a walk down the boardwalk to find the source of the springs which comes from underground. You can tube and swim and snorkel in the summer time. How'd you like to float down the river with the alligators?

Talent show

The kids put on a talent show for each other a few weeks ago.

Jonathan told jokes (again getting as close to bathroom humor as a listening mother will allow).

Then he shown the spotlight for the girls.

They played music on the piano and flute. Elizabeth can actually play "Are You Sleeping?". That's all I can play too. :-)

Funny boy! See his green whoopie cushion prop on the floor. I think he threw it at the audience at the end of his "routine".

Supper time conversation

Elizabeth is making orange juice and wants to choose one of the kids to give the lid to so they can lick the juice off.

She says, "Tell me a number between 4 and 6." Jon shows 10 fingers. Phoebe says, "3!"

"Okay, what's 10 plus 10?" Jon shows 5 fingers. Phoebe says, "4!" "No." "3!" "No." "2!" "No."

"Let's see.... what's 100 plus 100?" Jon says, "10." Phoebe says, "Milk!"

She finally lets them each take a lick of the lid.
